American Express undergoes its largest Centurion Lounge Network expansion to date across four locations. The network expansion includes a brand-new Centurion Lounge at Newark Liberty International Airport, a second lounge at London Heathrow Airport, and significant expansions of existing lounges at both Philadelphia International Airport and George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
Slated to open in 2027, the new lounge at EWR will cover more than 30,000 square feet and eventually be the largest Centurion Lounge to date. In fact, when this lounge opens, American Express will become the first credit card issuer with proprietary lounges across all three major New York City-area airports and the first credit card issuer with two proprietary lounges at LHR.
The new ERW lounge will span two floors in Terminal A, featuring experiences inspired by New Jersey’s culinary and cultural scene, including three distinct bars, Blue Roast by American Express, and menus from The Culinary Collective by The Centurion Lounge.
At LHR, the second Centurion lounge will grace Terminal 5 in 2028, complete with premium food and beverage offerings, a V.I.P. area, and a variety of seating and dedicated work areas. The PHL lounge is slated to be fully updated by 2027, doubling in size across two stories for even more space for cardmembers.
Also in 2028, the existing Centurion Lounge in Houston (IAH) will nearly triple in size to more than 23,000 square feet, making it one of the largest Centurion Lounges in the network. Customers can expect specialty dining experiences, a second full-service bar, expanded seating, Blue Roast by American Express, and additional restrooms and showers.
The announcement closely follows American Express’ first Centurion Lounge in continental Europe, which debuted this September at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

Oct 14, 2026Review: Villatel Resort Orlando
Opened March 2025, Villatel Orlando Resort is one of Orlando’s newest elevated resorts, but far more unique and private than you’ll find at many other resorts and hotels in the area. The name alone points to an experience beyond your typical hotel room or suite; here, you have the flexibility to select from a wide range of modern villas, ranging from four to nine bedrooms, as well as a series of Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy units.

Oct 12, 2026The Quest for Quiet: Choose the Best Noise-Canceling Headsets to Suit Your Travel Style
Back in the 1990s, when I was traveling on my airline pilot father’s standby passes, there weren’t many ways for passengers to cancel ambient noise while in flight. I remember squishing and twisting little yellow pairs of foam earplugs with my fingers and letting them rise in my ears while I swirled ice around in my Pawberry Punch and ripped open a cold pouch of Delta-branded Biscoff cookies. Much has changed in travel technology since those days; and although I’ll forever miss Dusty the Delta Air Lion, I’m happy to report no more need for plastic ear foam.
