Guests aboard Royal Scotsman, A Belmond Train, Scotland, will soon enjoy two new grand suites, launching May 2024. Set to elevate the onboard experience, suites include en-suite bathrooms, double beds and a private living area. Added amenities like private transfers to and from the train and one spa treatment in the train’s dedicated spa treatment also comprise the addition.
Suites feature elegant references to Scottish culture and its rugged Highlands with dark-wood paneling embellished with intricate marquetry. The double bed sits against an embossed headboard, with a separate lounge seeing a dressing table, dining table, sofa and armchair rounding out the space. In addition to hand-crafted wall covering, upholstery and furniture, colors of green, gray, beige and blue flood the space, with local materials paying further homage to Scottish roots.

Stone and wood adorn the ensuite bathrooms, with decorative patterns reminiscent of Edwardian times incorporated throughout. Other details like Pictish stone motifs and Celtic symbolism also feature in the suites. In the day lounge area, discover the statement armchair, a tribute to the Orkney Chair — a piece originating from the islands of the same name more than 100 years ago. Bespoke tartan design covers both the armchair and sofa.
The new suites mark the fourth accommodation option aboard the train.
