Wilderness Safaris Vumbura Plains, set in the heart of the Okavango Delta World Heritage site in Botswana, officially reopened after an extensive refurbishment to the interior and exterior of the camp. The new look showcases its sense of place and culture through an outstanding menu and superlative hospitality. Vumbura offers guests an unforgettable African wilderness journey with some of the best wildlife encounters in the Delta.

Some of the new design elements pay homage to the surrounding wilderness patterns, textures and colors, bringing a sense of nature inside the camp. The furniture and interiors have been replaced or enhanced to honor the natural surroundings.

The wildlife and various habitats — mopane, acacia woodland, floodplains and permanent swamp — offer guests year-round land- and water-based adventures to witness the region’s extraordinary wildlife. The wilderness experiences include day and night drives, walks and mekoro (canoes) activities, as well as hot-air balloon rides from April to September, and scenic helicopter flights. All these activities make Vumbura an exclusive destination for an adventure seeker.

To go along with the remodel, Vumbura also introduced a revised menu that closely aligns with traditional local fare. The dining options celebrate the local and delicious seasonal ingredients of the region, partnering with local farmers and suppliers in order to get the freshest ingredients. Each meal takes guests on a journey into the culture and traditions of the people in northern Botswana.
