For many, driving the Pacific Coast Highway is a dream road trip. If that is in the cards for you in 2020, make sure to make the most of your road trip while avoiding any preventable snafus by keeping in mind these four tips.
- Take your time.
There are endless incredible vistas along the Pacific Coast Highway. Don’t rush your trip. Leave plenty of time between your destinations each day to stop and pull over as many times as you want to capture those awesome views.
- Plan your route ahead of time.
Just as you’ll want to take your time while on your trip, take your time ahead of your trip, too: Plan out any spots you might want to see, as well as your route. Don’t just hop in your car and type your destination into your navigation app. You might miss some of the most scenic spots and best pull-offs!
- Drive north to south.
Driving north to south will allow you to be on the ocean side of the road while driving, giving you the best views and making pulling into scenic spots and overlooks easier.
- Get a convertible.
Come on. Why would you not want to drive the Pacific Coast Highway in a convertible?
