Coach Love Eau de Parfum

Floral and fruity scents are at the heart of this classic perfume, with notes of pink pepper leaves, wild strawberry and Mandarin oranges, complemented by accents of red rose and Indian sambac jasmine. It’s warm, long-lasting and simply timeless. $97 for 90 ml.

Byredo Mojave Desert

Inspired by the beauty of the Mojave Desert, this perfume sees musky Ambrette blend with Jamaican Nesberry before revealing lower notes of sandalwood and warm Chantilly musk. This woody composition is both raw and real, a testament to the wilderness in all of its natural, graceful beauty. $225 for 3.3 oz.

Phlur Missing Person

Delicate and comforting, this perfume brings floral nuances of jasmine and orange blossom together with white musk for a fragrance evoking the lingering scent of a lover’s skin. Pure and fine, there’s nothing missing from Phlur Missing Person. $99 for 50 ml.

YSL Libre Eau de Parfum

A bold and floral perfume for women, this is a long-lasting fragrance crafted with lavender essence from France, which works in harmony with Moroccan orange blossom and notes of musk accord and warm vanilla. You can’t get any more classic than this one. $135 for 50 ml.

Now’s the Time to See Giza, the Nile and Beyond

All archaeology-obsessed eyes turned hopefully toward Egypt earlier this year when the highly anticipated Grand Egyptian Museum outside Cairo finally began welcoming visitors after construction delays, funding roadblocks and political upheaval in the region (among other factors) conspired to keep things delayed for many long years. The museum’s cherry on the top is slated to open this summer, with the July opening of the museum’s 20-plus-years-in-the-making Tutankhamen galleries and accompanying cache of some 5,000 artifacts and treasures from the boy king’s tomb.

On the Road

As I write this letter, I am halfway across the Atlantic Ocean on my return from an epic golf trip in Ireland. The weather was magnificent: sunshine and no rain ... quite unusual by Irish standards. We were happy to leave our rain gear and extra warm clothing in the hotel rooms as we headed out every day.
