As the travel industry enters 2021, here are a few hotels opening for travelers to look forward to as they plan trips and vacations in the new year:

Bishop’s Lodge, Santa Fe, New Mexico

With a tentative spring 2021 opening planned, Bishop’s Lodge is an iconic 1920’s ranch resort on 317 acres in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Range. A combination of a renovation and new construction, 126 total rooms include residential and hotel, accompanied by a restaurant, spa, fitness and event lawn, outdoor grounds and stables. The historic property is deeply imbued with the culture of Santa Fe and Native American history.

Moxy Austin, Austin, Texas

Opening this month, Moxy Austin boasts 158 rooms on the western edge of the University of Texas campus, part of the area’s revitalization. Materials used include masonry, reclaimed wood and metal panels of weathering steel wrap. The weathering steel changes over time, which also symbolizes the travelers who come and go.

The Otis Hotel, Austin, Texas

Another Austin hotel slated to open Jan. 13, The Otis Hotel is an Autograph Collection and AC dual-branded luxury and lifestyle hotel. Embodying the spirit of Austin, other highlights include a 4,000-square-foot rooftop deck with pool, bar and terrace overlooking the University of Texas campus, a lobby-level bar and lounge and multi-function space with light dining.

Austin Marriott Downtown, Austin, Texas

Austin hotel No. 3 opens in March, with diversity and eclecticism reflected in the hotel experience and architecture. Situated between Lady Bird Johnson Lake and downtown Austin, the hotel will serve as a natural connection for the city’s convention center and downtown.

W Nashville, Nashville, Tennessee

In the city’s historic Gulch District, W Nashville will offer a place to connect and socialize in a casual, but upscale environment. Opening in February, the project optimizes social connectivity and interaction, and will be a place for guests and locals alike.

JW Marriott, Charlotte, North Carolina

Coming May 2021, located in Uptown Charlotte, the hotel uses the nearby public plaza as a focal point of the development. Providing all the luxury lodging of a 5-star hotel, the JW Marriott will serve as a pedestrian gateway to the neighboring convention center, numerous art and cultural institutions and multiple sports and entertainment venues.

Fairfield by Marriott Phnom Penh Review

Phnom Penh as we imagined it stretches beneath us: a picturesque, low-rise mix of Southeast Asian and French Colonial styles. When the inhabitants of those buildings look back at us here in the Fairfield by Marriott hotel in Chip Mong Tower, they see the future.

Amansara Review

It was more than a car journey; it was a transition between worlds. At our first hotel in Siem Reap, huge coaches constantly pulled up outside the lobby to deposit or receive international tour groups; we departed in very different style, in a 1965 black Mercedes limousine once owned by King Sihanouk. The mundanities of mass tourism were left behind. We progressed through the chaotic Cambodian streets in regal comfort and soon arrived at a solid gate.
