Cvent recently revealed 2019’s top worldwide meeting destinations. The meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions technology provider based its rankings on meeting and event booking activity on its own venue sourcing sites. Top destinations are split into regions, including the United States, Europe, Asia, the Caribbean and Latin America, the Middle East and Africa and Canada.

In the United States, the top five meeting destinations in descending order are Orlando, Las Vegas, Chicago, Atlanta and Dallas. In Europe, the top five meeting destinations in descending order are London, Berlin, Barcelona, Paris and Amsterdam. In Asia, the top five meeting destinations in descending order are Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Shanghai. In the Caribbean and Latin America, the top five meeting destinations in descending order are Nassau, Playa del Carmen, Cancun, Punta Cana and San Juan. In the Middle East and Africa, the top five meeting destinations in descending order are Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Cape Town, Johannesburg and Marrakesh.

“Business events add $1.5 trillion to the global GDP and because of this positive economic impact, the cities featured in this year’s Top Meeting Destinations lists have put significant time and resources into attracting more group business to their locales,” said Chris McAndrews, vice president of marketing, Cvent Hospitality Cloud. “While the top destinations in each region have not changed significantly year-over-year, cities such as Napa, California; Edinburgh, Scotland; and Beirut, Lebanon, are new to their respective lists and have positioned themselves as top cities to host meetings and events. Leading destinations are working closely with hotels and venues in their area to offer and promote unique experiences, helping event organizers deliver more memorable and impactful events.”
