Last Friday, Frontier Airlines introduced new fare bundles, ditching change and cancellation fees for all cabins except its Basic fares. Effective May 17, Frontier Airlines introduced Economy, Premium and Business, alongside its pre-existing unbundled Basic fare.

“Today marks the beginning of a new era for Frontier – one with transparency in our prices, no change fees and the lowest total price,” said Barry Biffle, CEO, Frontier Airlines. “This is ‘The New Frontier’ and we are committed to offering more than the lowest fares – we deliver the best price for all the options you want and the customer support you need, when you need it. No gimmicks, just really low prices and good customer service.”

For Frontier Airlines, new Economy, Premium and Business options include benefits like no change fees, seat assignments and more. Passengers must only pay any differences in airfare for flight changes.

The airline also announced expanded customer benefits and support; flight credit expiration has been extended to 12 months. Additionally, customers who find a lower price elsewhere can receive 2,500 FRONTIER Miles.

The airline’s new Business option offers UpFront Plus seating with additional space and comfort (subject to availability), including a guaranteed empty middle seat at the front of the aircraft. Business also includes a carry-on bag, two checked bags with an increased 50-pound weight allowance and first-to-board priority boarding with guaranteed overhead bin space.

On the same day as Frontier Airlines’ announcement, Spirit Airlines made similar changes. Previously, change fees ranged $69–119.

The airline reported a $207 million operating income loss in the first quarter and recently saw the termination of its planned merger with JetBlue. As a result, Spirit Airlines hints at some big changes on the horizon, including alterations to possibly appeal to higher-end travelers. The airline is currently testing changes.

“We are on the cusp of making changes which we believe will position us on the road back to sustained profitability,” said Scott Haralson, CFO, Spirit Airlines.

“We are on track and we are excited to unveil the milestones to you over the coming months,” said Ted Christie, CEO, Spirit Airlines.

Hôtel des Grands Voyageurs Review

It’s often declared Paris’ Left Bank, or La Rive Gauche, the local side of the Seine —  where bohemian and chic are used superfluously, albeit with some veracity. It only makes sense that travelers looking to stay on the Left Bank would seek as local an accommodation as possible — Hôtel des Grands Voyageurs is the new kid on the block and certainly delivers this with its design following the likes of a Parisian art collectors’ residence.
