The first property from the luxury Ritz-Carlton brand is set to debut in the Hungarian capital next year in the heart of Budapest. Overlooking Erzebet Square, the 192-room hotel will offer incredible views of St. Stephen’s Basilica and convenient access to a number of World Heritage Sites, including the banks of the River Danube, the Buda Castle Quarter, Andrassy Avenue, Heroes Square and the Millennium Underground Railway.
“Hungary represents the next great international expansion opportunity for The Ritz-Carlton,” said Herve Humler, president and chief operating officer, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. “We are especially pleased that our initial presence will be in Budapest, the country’s principal political, cultural and commercial center.”
The continuously growing 5-star Ritz-Carlton brand is due to reach 100 hotels by the end of 2016.
