SWISS plans to significantly grow its route networks from Zurich (ZRH) and Geneva (GVA) with new destinations and increased frequencies on a number of existing European and intercontinental routes.
With the start of 2015 summer schedules on March 29, SWISS will add 22 new destinations to its Zurich-based network. Many new points will strengthen the carrier’s non-stop services to and from neighboring countries: Leipzig (LEJ) and Dresden (DRS) in Germany; Toulouse (TLS) in France; Graz (GRZ) in Austria; and Bari (BRI), Naples (APF) and Brindisi (BDS) in Italy. Seasonal service to Palermo (PMO) introduced in 2014 will be increased to year-round operations.
Additional new destinations include Thessaloniki (SKG), Izmir (ADB), Malta (MLA), Bilbao (BIO), Gothenburg (GOT), Helsinki (HEL), Santiago de Compostela (SCQ), Riga (RIX), Ljubljana (LJU), Krakow (KRK), Sarajevo (SJJ), Sofi (SOF) and Zagreb (ZAG). SWISS will also increase its frequencies on existing routes to Copenhagen (CPH), Hamburg (HAM), Malaga (AGP), Palma de Mallorca (PMI), Stockholm (ARN) and Valencia (VLC). For its international network, SWISS will grow frequencies to San Francisco (SFO) to 13 weekly flights in the July and August peak summer season.
From Geneva, SWISS will expand its route network with year-round service to six new destinations. Florence (FLR) will receive four new weekly services, while Valencia, Sarajevo and Skopje (SKP) will each have two weekly flights. Algiers (ALG) and Dublin (DUB) will also receive new non-stop service. New seasonal destinations from Geneva include Biarritz (BIQ), Calvi (CLY), Palermo, Thessaloniki and Zakynthos (ZTH).
SWISS will also serve various leisure destinations all over the world in partnership with its sister carrier Edelweiss this summer. In addition to popular long-haul destinations such as Havana (HAV), Vancouver (YVR) and Las Vegas (LAS), frequencies will also be increased to a number of European beach-holiday resorts: Antalya (AYT), Larnaca (LCA), Olbia (OLB), Split (SPU) and Ibiza (IBZ) all receive more frequencies, while Faro (FAO) and Catania (CTA) will join the network as early as next month. In addition, Podgorica (TGD) and Corfu (CFU) will be added to the network.
