Forget the Big Apple and Sin City — been there, done that. Break out of your travel bubble and explore somewhere new. Adventurous souls, travel to these four U.S. cities to experience what may be a trip of a lifetime.
Located an hour from Boston, Providence combines heritage and fun. Described as New England’s coolest city, explore the renaissance with restaurants, shops and artists’ studios. On summer evenings, catch a free outdoor showcase of WaterFire, a mix of music and blazing braziers along the city’s waterways. The city’s waterways and historic buildings make Providence a wonderful place to explore.
Just 30 miles northwest of Denver, Boulder lies at the foot of the Rocky Mountains where locals run, cycle, hike and climb — it’s no wonder Boulder was once dubbed America’s fittest city. The university was founded 150 years ago and its heart is found on Pearl Street Mall. Through the change of seasons from spring to autumn, the farmers’ market reflects the city’s credentials as a foodie town, while in summer, the barn-like Chautauqua Auditorium hosts the international Colorado Music Festival.
The birthplace of Gerald Ford, Malcom X, Fred Astaire and the Reuben sandwich, Omaha is also known for its high ratio of millionaires per capita. The vibrant foodie and cultural scene is regarded as one of the best in the world. Check out the Old Market area, stroll along the riverfront or walk in the Dundee neighborhood and you’ll see why this is one of the best cities in the world.
The breathtaking scenery of Missoula tells you you’re in the Rockies, but the vibe is of the Pacific Northwest. Visit the city that features a fascinating mix of cowboys and hippies. While Missoula offers a lively art and cultural scene, the main attraction is the 60,000 acres of the great outdoors.

Mar 28, 2024Cruise Lines Elevate the Onboard Fine-Dining Experience
It’s been a long time since the food on cruise ships resembled the bland, uninspired fare that gave onboard dining a bad name. These days, cruise passengers can look forward to menus created by Michelin-starred chefs made with top-quality ingredients served in stunning spaces. Choices abound as well. In addition to elegant main dining rooms, cruise ships have created a huge array of specialty restaurants that focus not only on perfectly executed traditional European and North American dishes but flavors and experiences from around the globe as well. In fact, meals served aboard cruise vessels have gotten so good, they’re drawing passengers onto ships: According to a recent report by luxury travel planning network Virtuoso, advisors report after Europe (specifically Italy and France), the No. 2 dining destination for travelers is aboard an ocean or river cruise. “This shows how cruise lines have really stepped up their culinary game, with consulting chefs and new restaurants and making that a focal point,” said Misty Belles, vice president, Global Public Relations, Virtuoso.
