Of all the journeys Abercrombie & Kent founder Geoffrey Kent has planned in the past 50 years Around the World with Geoffrey Kent by Private Jet: The Tropics to the Arctic (May 1–26, 2016) may be the apex. Kent personally hosts the almost month-long journey aboard a chartered private jet equipped with 50 fully lie-flat, first-class seats, leading a tour showcasing destinations not yet on the radar of most travelers.
Beginning in the tropics, with eye-opening visits to Colombia, French Polynesia and the Solomon Islands, the itinerary continues to the Philippines (one of the best places on Earth to see whale sharks). Then it’s on to the Mongolian Steppes where the landscape has changed little since the days of Genghis Khan, followed by visits to Samarkand and St. Petersburg. The adventure ends in Greenland, at a time of year when the sun never sets.
The small group size of no more than 50 guests allows for an itinerary packed with privileged access and invitation-only events such as a traditional bride-price ceremony in the Solomon Islands, a private street market in Colombia, and a special presentation of the Naadam Games, Mongolia’s traditional contests of archery, wrestling and horsemanship, all arranged exclusively for Abercrombie & Kent’s Private Jet guests.
Also for 2016, Abercrombie & Kent will once again offer its best-selling private jet journey, Around the World by Private Jet: Islands, Savannas & the Amazon (Oct. 17–Nov. 11, 2016), designed by Geoffrey Kent and featuring some of the most remote places on Earth.

May 8, 2024The Peninsula Bangkok Resort Review
Bangkok is one of the world’s most exciting cities, and we — me and my wife — have front-row seats. From the wood-paneled living room of our 16th-floor deluxe suite in The Peninsula, we look out on a panoramic sweep of the Chao Phraya River, one of the city’s most important routes. Day and night the river jostles with ferries, cruise boats, barges, speedboats and distinctive long-tail boats. We view it all in air-conditioned comfort.

The Argosaronic Islands Are Calling
The Saronic or Argo Saronic Islands of Greece call travelers to explore its seven small islands and islets brimming with history, natural sites and more. With most easily accessible by boat, the islands’ proximity to ports of Athens make the Saronic Islands an ideal destination for those preferring shorter boat rides. In fact, trips from Athens ports to the islands take only between 10 minutes and two hours, depending on the island you choose, making them perfect for day or weekend trips. From Piraeus port, you can access Hydra, Spetses, Aegina and Poros directly. Come explore these stunning islands with us and find the inspiration to plan your next trip to these islands. Hydra Hydra town curves around a slope overlooking the Argosaronic Gulf like an amphitheater and is considered one of the most romantic destinations in Greece. Most unique to the island is its lack of vehicles. People on the island get around on mules and donkeys as well as water taxis, making for a peaceful and laid-back day. Hydra lies a two-hour ferry ride from Piraeus port in Athens.
