Wyndham Hotel Group announced it plans to transform its 16 hospitality brands, focusing on offerings for millennials and the growing global middle class. The changes come after an 18-month study of 50 hotel brands and thousands of international business and leisure travelers. All 16 Wyndham brands will debut revitalized décor, marketing campaigns and experiences, some as early as this summer. “We believe travel is about creating lasting memories, but given what’s currently available in the market, travelers are forced to compromise enriching experiences because of price. It’s time for the hospitality industry to get democratization right — it’s not just about value for money, it’s about the freedom to explore your world the way you want,” said Josh Lesnick, chief marketing officer, Wyndham Hotel Group. The upcoming changes will also enable value travelers to choose experiences and accommodations suitable for their needs and lifestyles. Wyndham partnered with Siegel+Gale to study travelers’ needs and preferences, realizing the growing travel market is increasingly individualized. The hospitality group is also investing in cloud-based property management systems, more new-construction properties and new perks through Wyndham Rewards. “We’re transforming at a time when the $7.2 trillion global travel and tourism industry is growing faster than the global economy, fueled largely by millennials and an increasingly travel-curious middle class. With Wyndham Hotel Group’s unmatched scale and the breadth of our portfolio, no one is better positioned to meet this demand and champion the everyday traveler,” said Geoff Ballotti, chief executive officer, Wyndham Hotel Group.
