Hats and boots are welcome at the Alisal Guest Ranch & Resort in Solvang, Calif. where the cottages and suites are television-free, and the cowboys are real. New to the 1946 property (located just north of Santa Barbara) this fall is the Alisal Wine Ghetto Weekend (Oct. 25–27) featuring Central Coast winemakers from the Santa Rita Hills operating under the name of Lompoc Wine Ghetto.

Featured wineries for the inaugural event include Palmina, Zotovich Cellars, Longoria, New Vineland and Samsara. Afternoon check-in is on Friday, with an evening opportunity to meet the winemakers over a barbecue dinner prepared by ranch chef Pascal Gode, followed by live entertainment in the Cottonwood Room. On Saturday, guests enjoy a hayride through the hills en route to breakfast at the Old Adobe, followed by California Harvest in the Ghetto. Food trucks, gourmet tastings, barrel and tank samplings, production tours, live music and an actual wine crush round out the day. Sunday’s farewell brunch includes Palmina Sparkling Wine Mimosas.

The three-day, two-night weekend includes studio accommodations for two, all meals and wine pairings, transportation between the ranch and the California Harvest Party, a selection of welcome amenities and special gifts, and taxes and service charges. Cost, based on double occupancy, is $1,695 per couple, with suite rates available upon request.
