WalletHub compared the 10 most popular hotel rewards programs using 21 key metrics to determine which offers the best value to members across a range of travel budgets. The study took into consideration aspects such as point values, blackout dates, amenity perks and more.
For the fourth year in a row, Wyndham Rewards ranked as the best hotel loyalty program for travelers at all spending levels. It offers up to $14.30 in rewards value per $100 spent with the brand, the most of any rewards program. Wyndham Rewards also ranked highest for number of redemption options.
Coming in second is Best Western Rewards, the only major hotel chain whose rewards points do not expire due to account inactivity, followed by Radisson Rewards, with the fewest earning limitations.
Marriott Rewards took the fourth spot, as the Marriott, SPG and The Ritz-Carlton merger created incremental rewards program value, at $10.85 per $100 spent, a higher value than any of the programs offered on its own last year.
The study compared Hilton Honors, Marriott Rewards, Choice Privileges, IHG Rewards Club, Wyndham Rewards, Radisson Rewards, World of Hyatt, Best Western Rewards, La Quinta Returns and Drury Gold Key Club.
