Virgin Hotels will break ground with its second U.S. location in New Orleans’ Warehouse District in April with an opening slated for early 2019.

The 225-room hotel will include a rooftop pool and lounge, gym, meeting space and Commons Club, a combination workspace, cocktail lounge and library. Virgin Hotel New Orleans will be built at 550 Baronne Street from the ground up. The up-and-coming area sits next to the Central Business District and is home to an increasing number of new restaurants, galleries and shops.

We’re excited to bring the Virgin experience to the Big Easy because it’s a perfect fit in terms of our values and our emphasis on creating unique and immersive experiences for our guests.”

The company’s first property, Virgin Hotels Chicago, opened in January 2016. Additional hotels are planned for Nashville, Dallas, Palm Springs, New York and Silicon Valley, while Boston, Los Angeles, Miami, Austin, Seattle, San Francisco, Washington, D.C. and London are being explored.
