Virgin Australia’s Hat Valet services helped give Spring Racing Carnival racegoers a stylish start, with hair and makeup services prior to the horse race. Located in the airline’s Sydney Lounge, the Hat Valet service ensured premium handling of headpieces from the moment they arrived at premium entry to the delivery in Melbourne.

Virgin Australia, celebrating one of the most popular sporting events in the country, offered guests a number of pre-flight pampering options in the Sydney Airport lounge — professional blow-dries, styling, makeup appointments and ModelCo take-home kits.

“Each guest will leave the Virgin Australia lounge with a special ModelCo touch-up kit so they can ensure they look fabulous all day while they’re trackside,” said Shelley Barrett, founder and chief executive officer, ModelCo.

Attendees were fancied upon arrival with sparkling wine and a range of delicious canapés. Male guests had the opportunity to utilize a shoe-shining service from Buffed.

The services were available to business-class guests and velocity platinum and gold members traveling on select flights from Sydney to Melbourne between Oct. 28 and Nov. 5. Guests using Hat Valet hair and makeup services were able to take a photo in front of the flower wall in the lounge and post it on social media using the tag #virginaustraliahatvalet.
