Every year, two Virgin Australia flights skip Christmas entirely, due to an unavoidable time hack.
As people enjoy lunches and hot roast dinners with family and friends, travelers boarding flights VA2 and VA8 at Los Angeles International Airport on Christmas Eve skip right over Dec. 25, and it’s like Christmas Day never existed.
As guests boarded the flights on Christmas Eve, they witnessed their own Christmas miracle. Saint Nicholas turned the planes into his very own sleigh, decked out with Christmas tinsel, trees and treats.
He enlisted special helpers of the Virgin Australia crew to help spread the cheer onboard. A full turkey dinner was served complete with chestnut stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans and cranberry sauce.
As travelers drifted to sleep — dreaming of Sugar Plum fairies — Saint Nick jumped onboard to leave special presents for everyone hanging off their seatback. Velocity frequent-flyer stockings were filled to the brim with chocolates and gifts from Velocity and its partners. Jolly Santa walked the aisles spreading joy to the passengers on the flights.
It appears Virgin Australia’s Velocity members made the nice list this year, having their membership status upgraded — red members were upgraded to silver, silver to gold, gold to platinum and platinum were gifted 100,000 velocity points.
