Virgin Atlantic partnered with high-end British brands de Mamiel and This Works to offer a two-step aromatherapy kit for Upper Class passengers. The aromatherapy is designed to bust jetlag and help travelers fall asleep and wake up more refreshed and acclimatized to the time zone.

Virgin Atlantic was also the first airline to introduce Headspace, a series of mindfulness videos to help customers feel happier and healthier when flying.

Upper Class passengers will now enjoy a hot towel infused with oils created specifically for the airline by de Mamiel. The blend varies on day and night flights. Day features Enliven, a blend of bergamot, sweet orange and ylang ylang. Night’s High Altitude blend includes fragonia, eucalyptus and lavender.

Overnight travelers also receive a deep sleep pillow space from This Works, clinically proven to improve sleep quality and aid a more restful night of sleep.

Popular app Headspace created 13 films, available on the in-flight entertainment, that provide techniques to help customers sleep effectively on a plane.

“We are always looking for ways to make flying an even more fabulous experience, and now customers traveling in Upper Class can benefit from our unique blend of onboard aromatherapies,” said Jill Brady, executive vice president, customer experience, Virgin Atlantic. “We partnered with leading British beauty brands de Mamiel and This Works to provide a two-step aromatherapy kit onboard all Upper Class flights to help customers overcome jetlag and enjoy a deep, relaxing sleep onboard.”

Explore Portugal on a Wine Tasting Tour with a Touch of History

All it takes is one glance at the grounds of Quinta Dona Maria, which includes a grand villa and surrounding gardens, to realize wine tasting in Portugal comes with a good dose of history. The vineyard is located in Estremoz, just northeast of the first-century Roman ruins found in Evora. In 1718 King João V built this estate for his lover, Dona Maria. When she died, the current owner’s ancestors purchased the land and have been making wine ever since. Taste the wine, which is terrific, especially the full-bodied red Dona Maria Grand Reserve. Then venture inside a building that stores large amphora vases, including one dating back to the 1200s.

One of Hawai’i’s Most Popular (and Controversial) Attractions Being Demolished

If you haven’t actually climbed them, you’ve seen beautiful photos of them at one time or another: Hawai’i’s Stairway to Heaven, located on Oahu. The 3,922-step hike ascends Koolau Mountain Range and has been illegal to hike since 1987. But this has not stopped travelers and locals from doing so, even with a steep fine of $1,000 for trespassing.
