Presented by Design Museum Holon, the Beracha Foundation and the Municipality of Holon, the three-year long research project on shading public spaces is complete and on display. The culmination of an invitation-based design competition, Urban Shade in Israel showcases the winning designs in a new installation at the Design Museum Holon, located south of Tel Aviv.
With global implications on solutions for providing shade in urban settings, architects and designers from Israel and other nations submitted the displays. Holon was used as a case study, with designs judged on how structural design can foster long-term use by the public, as well as the industrial, social and urban viability of each design.
