United Airlines announced the addition of more than 1,600 Polaris and first-class seats to nearly 250 international and domestic aircraft. The airline also adds the two-cabin, 50-seat Bombardier CRJ 550 aircraft to its regional fleet for more comfort and space on short-haul flights.

More than 20 reconfigured Boeing 767-300ER aircraft with 16 additional Polaris business-class seats, a 60 percent increase in all-aisle-access seating, roll out in the next few weeks. The new aircraft also feature more than 20 new United Premium Plus seats. The aircraft first serves routes between Newark (EWR) and London (LHR), with later expansion planned.

United Airbus aircraft feature more first-class seats starting this fall, with four more first-class seats on Airbus A319 aircraft. Early next year, A320 aircraft receive the same expansion.

The Bombardier CRJ 550 aircraft make their first appearance by the end of 2019, with 50 new aircraft introduced to current United routes. The aircraft is the only in the world to offer true first-class seating with only 50 seats total. Interiors feature LED lighting, a self-serve beverage and snack station and WiFi. It is also the only regional jet with ample carry-on space, reducing the need to gate check bags.
