United MileagePlus is changing the way members book multi-city award travel and change or cancel award flights.
Starting Oct. 6, members can create multi-city award travel itineraries, using search filters specifically designed for this purpose. The ability to book either multiple one-way awards for a multi-city trip replaces the previous Round-the-World award options. Additionally, the new Excursionist Perk means members receive a free one-way award flight within qualifying multi-city award itineraries, so long as the itinerary includes three or more one-way award flights. The Excursionist Perk replaces prior relevant stopover policies and discounted stopovers are discontinued.
Flight change and redeposit fees are now based on how close in time a new flight is to the original flight. General members pay $75 for changes made 61 days or more from the original flight date, and $125 for changes made 60 days or less from the original flight date. Premier Silver members pay $50 and $100; Premier Gold members pay $25 and $75; and Premier Platinum members pay $0 and $50, respectively. Premier 1K and United Global Services members pay no fees for changes at any time. For non-U.S. members, change fees are now processed in the local currency. These changes also take effect Oct. 6.

May 30, 2025By-the-cabin Yachting Redefines the Cruise Experience
I wish this day could last forever!” my windswept 9-year-old exclaimed, his voice soaring over the Mediterranean. He gripped the helm of a Bali 4.6 sailing catamaran off the coast of Marseille, his sun- bleached hair whipping in the salty breeze. The scent of the sea mingled with the aroma of warm baguettes drifting from the Côte d’Azur shoreline. Our captain, a seasoned sailor, subtly adjusted course, letting my son feel the exhilarating pull of the wind against the sails. As the waves lapped against the hull, I realized this was no ordinary vacation — this was freedom, unfiltered.
