United Airlines achieved its best on-time percentage for the July 4 holiday weekend this year. The accomplishment includes all scheduled travel July 1–4, both mainline and regional. The airline experienced 72.2 percent on-time arrivals and departures, a 20.4 percent increase over 2015 and a 48.7 percent increase over 2014. “We are getting more customers to meetings, beaches and family gatherings on time than ever before in our combined company history. Our operational momentum has never been stronger thanks to the focus and dedication of our employees across the entire airline,” said Greg Hart, executive vice president and COO, United. The past six months boast United’s best stretch of on-time performance in the last five years. Compared to last year, there is a 23 percent increase in mainline flights arriving at or before scheduled arrival times, and 27 percent increase in mainline flights departing at scheduled times. United is consistently finishing first or second in on-time arrivals out of the four largest U.S. network carriers.
