Airline stopover programs become increasingly popular, as more travelers seize the opportunity to break up their itinerary with a short stay in a connecting city.
Turkish Airlines added such a program for transfer passengers departing from all nine U.S. gateways, flying to Africa, Eastern Europe and the Balkans, South Europe, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Russia, Iran and Kazakhstan.
Passengers flying to these destinations who have more than 20 hours of connection time in İstanbul can receive complimentary accommodations in centrally located neighborhoods and the opportunity to explore the city during transit.
Economy-class passengers will receive a one-night stay at a 4-star hotel in Sultanahmet, and those in business class will enjoy two nights at a 5-star hotel in Taksim.
Travelers receive accommodation vouches from Turkish Airlines’ staff after completing the flight booking process.
