Turkish Airlines offers new stopover service for passengers departing any of its nine U.S. gateways and flying to Africa, Eastern Europe, Southern Europe, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Russia, Iran or Kazakhstan.

Travelers with more than 20 hours of connection time in İstanbul receive complimentary accommodations in central neighborhoods. Economy-class passengers receive a one-night stay at a 4-star property in Sultanahmet, while business-class passengers receive a two-night stay at a 5-star property in Taksim. Participants receive vouchers for stays after flight booking.

“Turkish Airlines’ stopover program aims to create an elevated experience for our passengers, as well as contributing to Turkey’s tourism activities by bringing in-transit passengers from Turkish Airlines into our fascinating hub city, İstanbul,” said Ahmet Olmuştur, chief marketing officer, Turkish Airlines. “As a global airline we know the importance of offering comforts both in-flight and on the ground in a destination, which is why we look forward to continuing to bring these enhanced services to our passengers.”

In addition to the stopover program, Turkish Airlines also offers the İstanbul Bosporus Experience, available to business-class passengers with transfer times of seven or more hours. The experience includes a boat tour of the Bosporos, dining at Çırağan Palace Kempinski and visits to historic landmarks.
