This spring and summer season, The Berkeley in London will host its 2022 Prêt-à-Portea collection in conjunction with its afternoon tea service. The collection sees couture take the form of cakes, with catwalk designs inspiring the creations.

Some of the featured designs include an Oscar de la Renta orange gown, which takes the shape of an apricot bavarois with salted Manuka honey and apricot ganache topped with a meringue frill; and a flower-filled Michael Kors handbag starring as a Victoria sponge, with fresh strawberry jam wrapped in an Opalys chocolate cylinder with intricately piped, lime buttercream flowers.

Gucci also makes an appearance in the cakes with its pink silk tuxedo transforming into a bourbon vanilla mousse and Emmanuel sponge, layered with peach compote, glazed with pink icing and finished with a thin chocolate jacket and bow tie. These designs comprise just some of the stunning creations featured at The Berkeley this spring and summer.

The Prêt-à-Portea pastry team also pulls out all the stops with its showstopper of a cake, designed to share with friends and family. The cake pays homage to Saint Laurent’s floral jumpsuit, with lychee mousse and fresh raspberry adorning a white coconut cake base.

The spring/summer season of Prêt-à-Portea is served 1–5:30 p.m. daily. The service costs approximately $83 per guest. Reservations can be made up to 90 days in advance.
