Last Nov. 19, The Westin at Denver International Airport opened its doors for business. That doesn’t even include the Jetson-inspired space-age bar located in the lobby. One thing is certain: The hotel epitomizes a new trend for travelers with air connections. Many opt for the convenience of staying overnight at the airport, especially when early-morning flights are involved.

Located just steps from the main terminal, the dark glass and steel-framed hotel is accessed on the south side of Jeppesen Terminal on Level 5. Looking like gigantic glass wings, The Westin’s architecture is both distinctive and bold, with elements reaching forward to the future, suggesting a new chapter for Denver’s groove.

For travelers looking for dining options other than those located inside the terminals, The Westin’s Grill & Vine is a signature bistro-style bar and grill offering a variety of cuisines and fresh foods supporting Westin’s focus on wellness. Most items are locally sourced to ensure quality taste and texture. An extensive wine list is available, along with cocktails and draft and bottle beer. Recommendations include a starter of tuna tartare followed by a salmon filet with tomato, grape, pine nuts and olives. Save room for the signature dessert — a salted caramel butterscotch pudding with a whiskey whipped cream flourish on top.

By this summer, guests can sip featured Colorado brews while sitting outdoors at a new restaurant to open on the Plaza.

Starting April 22, travelers can catch the RTD commuter rail at the ground-level transit station, right by The Westin. The line will take riders from the airport to downtown Denver, effectively opening easy daytrips for those with connecting flights and short stays. The ride takes about 35 minutes and costs around $10.
