It’s official: The Wall Street Hotel in New York City has become an official member of the illustrious Historic Hotels of America collection.

“Historic Hotels of America is delighted to induct The Wall Street Hotel, a Beaux-Arts hotel built in 1901.” said Lawrence Horwitz, executive vice president, Historic Hotels of America and Historic Hotels Worldwide. “We commend The Wall Street Hotel, The Paspaley Family, and leadership team for their careful historic preservation work, stewardship and vision that will allow future generations of travelers to experience this unique historic destination.”

Located in the Financial District within the Tontine Building — where The New York Stock Exchange originated — the hotel occupies a space that has weathered fires and numerous transitions. It meets strict criteria with these specifics: it’s a minimum age of 50 years, has been recognized for its historical significance, and has received designation by the U.S. Secretary of the Interior as a National Historic Landmark (or is eligible to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places).
