In fourth place, San Francisco ties with Portland, Oregon, and New York City for most German restaurants per capita. In second place, Portland, Oregon, ranks highly for many reasons. It’s notable for its high number of German restaurants and breweries and easily accessible bars. Finally, in first place, New York City takes the top spot as best U.S. destination for Oktoberfest celebrations. It has a high number of German restaurants and the most accessible bars out of all the ranked cities.
