Tucked away off busy Tottenham Court Road is Tattu, a Chinese restaurant bringing elevated flavors and never-before-seen presentations to life. To access the space, I took an elevator to the top, where I came upon a room adorned with life-sized cherry blossom trees bathed in fairy lights. The best part? The ceiling offered skylight views, allowing for panoramic views of the sky and streets below through floor-to-ceiling windows.
Tattu features a unique lunch offering, allowing guests to taste different dishes and enjoy various flavors without ordering entire meals. The Moon Stand Lunch lets you choose from three entrees and, with my friend in tow, that meant we got to enjoy six altogether — making for even more flavors!
We started the experience with the Fruit Mountain tea cocktail. This dainty and floral concoction saw Tanqueray gin mixed with peach and peony with a floral finish. The light flavors perfectly balanced out the savory dishes.

Between the two of us, we opted for wild mushroom spring rolls with truffle sour cream; tuna sashimi blossom with rose, cucumber and wasabi; duck and watermelon salad with hoisin, cashew and spring onion; red belly pork with baby leek and smoked crackling; seven-spiced seared tuna with truffle aioli, caviar and citrus ponzu; and wok-fired angry bird chicken with roasted chili peppers and sesame honey soy.
My favorite, a hard choice between two, came down to the seven-spiced seared tuna. The freshness of tuna cannot be beat, and the pairing with truffle aioli and that slightly sweet note of citrus ponzu creates a medley of flavors in the mouth for a sensational experience with each and every bite. Of course, the wok-fired angry bird chicken cannot be ignored either; the sauce and crunch from the peanuts brought so many great textures together in one dish.

The Moon Stand Lunch showcases each dish in a tiered display, allowing not only for great photos but also for a better appreciation of the work and craft put into each dish. In fact, no two plates were the same, showing just how much thought goes into each dish.
We couldn’t say no to dessert, especially when I read the titles of some and knew the presentations were going to be above and beyond. I had to see what the white chocolate dragon egg was all about, and I wasn’t disappointed at all. This white cocktail egg came in a caramel “nest” filled with coconut, passionfruit and mango creams, and sorbets. My friend was drawn to the Cherry Blossom, a dessert featuring white chocolate, cherry, cotton candy and a handmade chocolate tree. The final touch? Fog emitted from beneath the tree when our waitress poured water around it, creating a showstopping display.

I hope to revisit Tattu again at one of the other locations like Manchester, Edinburgh or Birmingham. You feel as if you’re actually dining in a Chinese garden in spring, and the bursts of flavor, from sweet to spicy to salty, left me smiling and excited to share the experience with others.

Sep 17, 2026High-Spirited Hong Kong: The Dynamic Hub Embraces Its Maritime History and Culture
It was known as the “Kai Tak heart attack” — the thrilling, terrifying final approach into Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Airport. Airliners were required to bank sharply at the last moment, dodging hills and apartment blocks to line up with a runway jutting out into Kowloon Bay. The airport is long gone, but international visitors are arriving at Kai Tak again, albeit more sedately. Their cruise ships dock smoothly at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, a modern gateway designed by Sir Norman Foster.
