When I was younger, every year my cousins, brothers and I would do an Easter egg hunt, whether in the house or around the yard. Normally, we would look for eggs filled with candy, change, dollars and sometimes lottery tickets. Now that we are grown up, we started looking for other ideas to switch it up.

COVID-Safe Easter Fun
This is our second Easter under COVID restrictions, but compared to last spring, things are looking more hopeful, and some restrictions are easing up. Last year Easter fell just a little more than a month after we'd entered widespread shutdowns, and our understanding of the virus was limited and the future looked uncertain and quite bleak. What normally is a season of great hope and new life felt drained of joy and rebirth. The traditional Holy Week and Easter services had to be streamed and viewed remotely, and all sorts of community events like Easter egg hunts were cancelled.
Traditional Springtime Fun
With Easter this past weekend and some lovely warm and sunny weather, here in Southern Oregon we've been relishing some of what makes spring such a delightful season. With my two young grandsons now living nearby, it's even more fun to be able to share those experiences with them and see them anew through their eyes.
