My Easter weekend started with driving to Connecticut to meet my aunt and uncle on Friday before my brother’s surprise birthday party. We ate dinner at Tuscany in Mohegan Sun Casino. After dinner we explored the rest of the casino and stores such as Le Creuset, Lush and Athleta.
On Saturday we drove to a golf simulator in Bedford, New Hampshire, for my brother’s 30th birthday. We don’t often do surprises in our family, and we had just visited a few weeks ago, so it was a fun to see his shocked face.
At the golf simulator we had a room with two simulation bays where you could set up training or games with a monitor. When it’s your turn, a ball will pop out of the floor onto a hole where the tee rises up with the ball sitting on top. Much better than Top Golf, where it just spits the ball out at you and you put it on the tee yourself. We could control the height of the tee and adjust our aim down the course with a control panel behind the tee box, which was a cool feature as well. The room also had a tablet connected to Spotify so we could play my brother’s favorite music and keep the vibes high.
We had to quickly clear out after our allotted time. We grabbed dinner with my brother and his fiancée and then breakfast in the morning just to get some more time together before heading home.
We made it home in good time on Easter Sunday and had enough energy to dye some Easter eggs. We like to use rubber bands, wax crayons and stickers to create designs on our eggs. We also like to wrap the eggs in old t-shirts and use pipettes to drip different colors on to the egg. You let the egg sit overnight, or until dry, and the egg comes out a cool tie-dye.
Usually we stick to our methods, but occasionally we try the method provided in the box. This year the box provided the materials to turn our eggs into unicorns. I made my unicorn a yellow coat with a pink muzzle then added stickers for the face and fun accessories. We taped the braided manes to the back and folded the ears to stick up on top of the egg.
Now we have three adorable unicorns smiling at us when we open the fridge, topping off the end to a fun Easter weekend.

Sep 17, 2026High-Spirited Hong Kong: The Dynamic Hub Embraces Its Maritime History and Culture
It was known as the “Kai Tak heart attack” — the thrilling, terrifying final approach into Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Airport. Airliners were required to bank sharply at the last moment, dodging hills and apartment blocks to line up with a runway jutting out into Kowloon Bay. The airport is long gone, but international visitors are arriving at Kai Tak again, albeit more sedately. Their cruise ships dock smoothly at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, a modern gateway designed by Sir Norman Foster.
