When I was younger, every year my cousins, brothers and I would do an Easter egg hunt, whether in the house or around the yard. Normally, we would look for eggs filled with candy, change, dollars and sometimes lottery tickets. Now that we are grown up, we started looking for other ideas to switch it up.

A couple years ago, I saw a video on Facebook where a family hunted for beer or their favorite alcoholic drink. I showed my mom, and we’ve been doing it every year since!

Every year, my mom asks my brothers, me and any of my cousins joining what drink we want her to hide for us around the yard. Before we get up on Easter morning, she goes out in the backyard to hide six for each of us — each year it gets trickier and trickier to find.

I didn’t do that well in the hunt this year; I was feeling a bit under the weather, so I wasn’t on my A game. The hunt was still a lot of fun! It seemed like we were each finding everyone else’s drinks besides our own — that’s how it normally seems to go, though! All our neighbors think it’s such a fun idea, and they always ask who won and say they are going to check the yard later to see if we missed any.

Every year I look forward to this hunt, and I can’t wait to see what happens next year! All I know is, I am bringing my A game!
