Swiss International Air Lines announced the start of its 2013/2014 winter schedule. The seasonal schedule runs through March 29, 2014, and includes the addition of new destinations and changes to the carrier’s route network. From Zurich (ZRH), the airline launched new daily service to Kiev (KBP), the capital of Ukraine, with Airbus A320 aircraft and boosted service to Miami (MIA) from seven flights a week to 10. SWISS is expanding its range of services from Geneva (GVA) with six new destinations, including: Stockholm (ARN), served up to twice weekly; Oslo (OSL), up to three times weekly; Gothenburg (GSE), up to twice weekly; Belgrade (BEG), up to twice weekly; London Gatwick (LGW), up to three times weekly; and Marrakech, Morocco (RAK) up to three times weekly. From Basel (BSL), SWISS suspended services to Rome (FCO) during its winter schedule and reduced flights to Barcelona (BCN) and Prague (PRG) by one weekly frequency. All three routes will be restored to full service during the carrier’s summer 2014 schedule. Throughout its winter schedule, the carrier will service 76 destinations with 91 aircraft and will also be offering flights from Zurich to vacation destinations in collaboration with its partner Edelweiss. Long-haul destinations include Tampa Bay (TPA), Cape Town (CPT), Phuket (HKT), Male (MLE), Mauritius (MRU) and Punta Cana (PUJ).
