The basement of the Sanctuary Hotel in Times Square has become a dining hot spot, thanks to the introduction of Sushi by Bou. A 12-course tasting menu by Chef David Bouhadana — consisting of Ikura, Hamachi, Akami, Toro, Salmon, Albacore, Uni, Scallop, Botan Shrimp, Wagyuni, Wagyu and Unagi — is designed to be eaten in 30 minutes at the eight-seat counter, which is then cleared for the next set of guests. Specialty cocktails are also available to enjoy.
Bouhadana spent years training in the Kansai region of Japan with an assortment of sushi masters. The Sanctuary, located at 132 West 47th St., is known for its private S.T.A.R. Program (Service Tailored to Any Request), and offers 113 luxurious guestrooms. The décor of rich shades of orange, chocolate and cognac includes European linens and duvets. There’s also a rooftop lounge, lively lobby bar and plenty of meeting and event space.
