Storm King Art Center is a 500-acre outdoor museum located in New York’s Hudson Valley, where visitors experience large-scale sculpture and site-specific commissions under the open sky. A Storm King Weekend makes for an unforgettable visit to Orange County that can include shopping and dining, as well as exploring the incredible outdoor artwork.

“Storm King Art Center, one of Orange County’s signature attractions, offers a unique experience in every season!” said Amanda Dana, director, Orange County Tourism & Film. “In the chillier months, the sculptures stand out more boldly against a blanket of white or a starker landscape. In the warmer months, it’s a wonderful experience to walk the green terrain in the warm Hudson Valley sunshine. When you’re finished marveling at the renowned art works, explore all the other treats that make Orange County so special.”
There is also the Shops at Jones Farm, with homegrown produce and gourmet foods in a country store and the baked goods in Grandma Phoebe’s Kitchen. In a converted Dutch barn lies Clearwater gifts, a store filled with interesting furniture, jewelry, clothing and accessories.

For a great culinary experience, the menu at Painter’s Tavern offers local seafood, meat and produce, served in a restaurant that’s also an art gallery. Stay overnight in nearby Cornwall at Cromwell Manor Inn, where the early 19th-century, brick Manor Building and 1764 House, named for the year it was built, offers colonial ambience in guest four rooms.
A comprehensive listing of area attractions, lodging and events can be found at Orange County Tourism. Located in New Windsor, Storm King Art Center will open for the spring-summer season on Wednesday, April 6, 10 a.m.–5:30 p.m. (closed Tuesdays). Timed tickets must be purchased in advance.
