Santuario LeDomaine Wellness and Spa at Abadia Retuerta LeDomaine in Spain’s Duero Region introduces an innovative new wellness adventure, the Mindfulness Spa Experience — combining modern virtual reality capabilities with the ages-old practice of guided meditation.

First, there’s the amazing spa space itself, housed within the former stables of a stunning ancient abbey with soothing earth tones and wood and stone features. Natural light pours in through skylights, while renovations include the installation of solar panels and a groundwater pumping system for energy, cooling and heat. Water for the 10,000-square-foot spa comes from a deep, mineral-rich well that’s decalcified on its way to the spa.

A Spa Sommelier curates guest experiences, including a tasting ritual with wines from Abadia Retuerta Winery and an aromatherapy selection process, determining individual wellness needs. The new Mindfulness Spa Experience is a pre-treatment ritual that can be added to any therapy treatments offered on the menu. The experience includes a soothing massage accompanied by an immersive, guided meditation virtual reality video.

A private couple’s Spa Suite supplements four individual treatment rooms. Furnishings by Gharieni, French linens by RFK and original works of art by Mira Nakashima create a luxurious setting. The facility is equipped with a Finnish sauna, steam bath, experience shower and hydrotherapy pool. A heated indoor pool and separate changing areas for men and women are also part of the layout, while skincare product lines include Anne Semonin, Evidens de Beauté, Natura Bissé and Mama Mio.
