A slice of beach and a sprinkle of spa. Mix them together and you have spa tapas, the newest offering at Mexico’s beachfront Viceroy Zihuatanejo.
Located on Mexico’s Pacific coast along a 600-foot stretch of Playa La Ropa, one of Mexico’s most beautiful beaches, Viceroy Zihuatanejo comprises 46 luxury suites and guestrooms in two-story adobe-inspired casitas nestled in the hills above the fishing village of Zihuatanejo.
Spa Tapas merges spa with beach in the resort’s newly built Spa Palapa, an on-the-sand treatment room boasting a traditional thatched roof. Billowing curtains complement the alfresco setting while offering a degree of privacy.
“On our extensive beachfront, on gorgeous palm-fringed La Ropa beach, guests are pampered by beach butlers and enjoy comfortable daybeds and loungers under personal palapas,” said Martin Kipping, general manager, Viceroy Zihuatanejo. “Now, we’ve added an exciting new spa dimension to our beach experience. What better place to enjoy a massage than our relaxing environment by the Pacific and the sounds of the waves.”
The Spa Tapas menu offers a selection of mini-treatments including:
- 15-minute back massage: medium pressure and light stretching accompanied by percussion and kneading
- 15-minute head massage: targeting pressure points in the neck, shoulders and scalp
- 15-minute foot massage: targeting points to stimulate reflexes in the feet
- 10-minute hand massage: stimulating reflex points on the hands
