Business-class passengers on select Singapore Airlines flights throughout Asia enjoy a new in-flight Chinese dining experience called Shi Quan Wei Mei. Created by the airline’s International Culinary Panel, the new culinary offerings use traditional cooking methods and fresh, seasonal produce to create an authentic Chinese meal.
The multiple-course meals include appetizers such as spicy tofu beef salad; entrees like braised pork belly in pickle sauce with sides like pumpkin with scallion oil and marinated cucumber; and desserts such as malva nut soup and snow fungus soup.
“The introduction of Shi Quan Wei Mei underlines Singapore Airlines’ commitment to innovation and the constant enhancement of our in-flight products and services,” said Yeoh Phee Teik, acting senior vice president, customer experience, Singapore Airlines. “Using locally-sourced ingredients that are in season, we are pleased to offer our Business Class customers a truly authentic Chinese dining experience that will be both wholesome and flavorful.”
“The design philosophy for the new Shi Quan Wei Mei is based on the innovative use of the freshest seasonal ingredients to showcase the essence of Chinese food culture. We hope that Singapore Airlines customers will enjoy the exquisite and delightful Chinese cuisine that we have created,” added Chef Zhu Jun, a member of the Singapore Airlines International Culinary Panel, which directed the creation of the new dining experience.
