If business brings you to Abu Dhabi for an extended period this summer, check out Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel and Resort’s new “Fit for Life.”

The two-month program begins July 1. For a membership fee of AED 999 (about $270) per person, participants receive 26 passes to the hotel gym and admission into a competition with other members to see who can lose the highest percentage of body fat.

“Fit for life is much more than just a summer gym membership,” said Mohamed El Morshedy, manager, Sheraton Fitness. “We are creating a community of likeminded people who are keen to break their old habits and make a change to their life.”

The hotel’s gym is equipped with a variety of weight machines and the latest TechnoGym cardio equipment. There’s also a sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi, and club trainers will create a personalized fitness program.

“We welcome people of all ages, body shapes and fitness levels,” said Morshedy. “To make the competition fair, we will judge the result based on what percentage of your body fat was reduced during the two months. This is not about who can lose the most weight, it is about who made the greatest difference to their own body.”
