Amateur archeologists dig the real deal with Wild Calls, a series of seven-day Earth Science Wilderness Tours through the high desert country and spectacular canyons of Wyoming’s Sweetwater County. Led by noted geologist and archaeologist Charlie Love — whose achievements include working with the Smithsonian Institution on studies of Easter Island — the tours offer a blend of experiences that embrace geography, paleontology, anthropology, history and archaeology with stops in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks.
Ten guided excursions are planned through October. Trips commence at the Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC), and continue with stops in Green River, Flaming Gorge Reservoir and Sheep Creek geological area, along with visits to museums and areas of significance along the way. The per-person fee of $2,750 includes all admission fees, hotels, educational materials, luxury bus travel and some meals; airfare is excluded.
