As part of a campaign to reduce stress and make travel more accessible, Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is launching new programs for people with hidden disabilities.
“We are working to make Sea-Tac Airport the most accessible airport in the nation,” said Peter Steinbrueck, commissioner, Port of Seattle. “All travelers should feel welcomed and that the airport meets their needs. New initiatives like the sunflower lanyards and improved design make travel more accessible and less stressful for everyone.”
New services include offering sunflower lanyards for passengers with hidden disabilities like autism, PTSD or hearing loss. The lanyards allow guests to receive the extra help they might need while traveling. Other additions include auditory assistance, wheelchair accessible taxis and updating curb accessibilities along the upper and lower drives at the airport.
The additions will bring Sea-Tac well above ADA guidelines. Check out the airport’s accessibility offerings.
