Here are some highlights of a bumper crop of newly announced and freshly inaugurated routes.

Air New Zealand gears for the Nov. 30 launch of three weekly non-stops flights between Chicago O’Hare International Airport and Auckland (AKL), using new 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. (Details here.)

Alaska Airlines and Delta Air Lines joined American Airlines in adding extra flights to serve those traveling to and from Las Vegas (LAS) in January 2019 to attend the CES Electronics Show. American will operate a special non-stop flight between Tokyo’s Narita International Airport and McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas Jan. 4–14. (Details here.) Alaska Airlines scheduled 40 additional flights to Las Vegas during the week of CES (Jan. 7–11) from tech hubs including Seattle (SEA), San Francisco (SFO), Los Angeles (LAX) and San Jose (SJC), adding about 6,000 temporary seats on these routes. And Delta Air Lines just announced two flights between Shanghai (PVG) and Las Vegas Jan. 7 and Jan. 12. (Details here.)

American Airlines adds nine new daily and seasonal routes next spring and summer. The list includes daily, year-round service between Charlotte (CLT) and Munich Airport, as well as a daily seasonal service between Dallas (DFW) and both Dublin (DUB) and Munich. Daily seasonal service will debut between Chicago O’Hare International Airport and Athens International Airport, along with daily seasonal service between Phoenix (PHX) and London Heathrow Airport. Philadelphia (PHL) gets summer seasonal service to Scotland’s Edinburgh Airport, Berlin-Tegel Airport, Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport in Italy and Croatia’s Dubrovnik Airport. Details here.

On April 4, Hawaiian Airlines will launch five weekly non-stop flights between Boston Logan International Airport and Honolulu (HNL). The 10-hour flight will be served by an Airbus A330 and will clock in as the longest domestic flight in U.S. history. (Details here.)

United Airlines will add daily, year-round service between San Francisco (SFO) and Amsterdam (AMS) on March 30. Non-stop seasonal service from Newark (EWR) to both Naples (NAP), Italy, and Prague (PRG) will roll out this spring as well. (Details here.)
