Rosewood Hotels will expand its portfolio of luxury hotels to Phuket, Thailand, marking the brand’s first resort in Southeast Asia.

The resort, set to open Nov. 20, offers 71 pool pavilions and villas alongside 23 residences, all located on a 1,968-square-foot beachfront property on Emerald Bay.

All rooms integrate the outside environment, with retractable glass walls and landscaped rooftops, providing energy conservation and uninterrupted views to the Andaman Sea. All design and construction for the villas, public spaces and restaurants incorporate sustainable practices and indigenous materials.

“Within this very special environment, Rosewood Phuket guests will feel ‘at one’ with the land and sea,” says Radha Arora, president, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts. “Everywhere, the innovative architecture with subtle Thai influences will blend beautifully with the natural landscape.”

To preserve the surrounding 40-acre forest, including 150-year-old Banyan trees considered sacred in Thai culture, the building company will carefully transport the trees within the site.

The hotel will boast four dining concepts, including a Thai seafood restaurant on the beach; a casual poolside eatery; a Southern Italian-inspired restaurant; and a pool bar. Asaya, Rosewood’s holistic wellness concept, features six signature wellness suites and a relaxation garden.
