The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company debuted its first luxury hotel in India, The Ritz-Carlton, Bangalore. Located in the heart of downtown Bangalore on Residency Road, the property features 277 guestrooms with décor that reflects local culture, including Jaali (lattice screen) design from the Mughal era and white pointed archways reminiscent of the Taj Mahal. It is also home to the largest art collection inside a hotel, with 1,280 pieces of contemporary art from prominent artists on display. “We are redefining the international standard for luxury hospitality in India with a truly unique property in Bangalore,” said Herve Humler, president and COO of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. “The hotel will bring our Ritz-Carlton service philosophy to life in this magical country, and blend it with traditional Indian hospitality to create memorable experiences for our guests.” The property offers guests seven fine dining restaurants, a salon, meeting and event space, a spa, a fitness center and an outdoor pool with a lounge, bar and private cabanas. Ritz-Carlton currently operates 81 properties in the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa, the Caribbean and the Middle East, including a newly opened hotel in Kazakhstan.
