ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN: After our journey to Miami, we were ready to start exploring the South Beach area. Hyatt Centric South Beach sits in a prime location between the ocean and several restaurants and shops. Upbeat music was playing on the ground floor as we made our way to the elevator. Once I stepped into the lobby, I finally felt my trip had begun. Floor-to-ceiling windows allowed for natural light to pour through the lobby and highlight the contemporary and sleek features, with greenery decorating the walls, adding life to the space. The front desk team warmly greeted us and assured us we could drop our bags, offering complimentary water bottles so we could begin exploring the neighborhood.
GUEST QUARTERS: Our corner King Bed City View room, which maximized both comfort and functionality, provided a welcome retreat from the energy buzzing off of South Beach. Cool sheets on the cozy bed made a nice contrast to the Miami heat outside. A rainfall shower was a highlight feature of the bathroom, along with ample counter space. The closet provided plenty of space to unpack our suitcases and settle into our room. The view overlooked a bustling street of shops and restaurants, with a slice of the Atlantic just visible in the distance.
SERVICES/AMENITIES: We wanted to make the most of the complimentary bikes available to guests. After our first night, we took a ride to South Pointe Pier before heading back to order breakfast. After placing our order at the bar, we opted to eat outside on the terrace overlooking the pool. We made our way to the beach, where Hyatt guests receive complimentary access to lounge chairs and towels via a partnership with the nearby Loews Miami Beach Hotel. Once we chose where we wanted to sit, attendants set up towels on the chairs, making it even more enjoyable to spend time by the ocean without hassle.
TOP TAKEAWAYS:
- Steps from restaurants, shops and the ocean, Hyatt Centric South Beach places you in the heart of the action with plenty of walkable options.
- Our corner room provided the perfect amount of space and was equipped with everything we needed to unwind comfortably after a day of activity.
- Complimentary bikes and convenient beach chair access made it easy to enjoy all that South Beach has to offer.

Jul 8, 2026Review: Hartwell House
In the library of Hartwell House, I checked the latest weather forecast on my phone. Most immediately, I made sure we had time for a walk in the 90 acres of gardens before the arrival of thunderstorms. I was also monitoring the next day’s weather, which was expected to break the highest ever June temperature in England. Through my smartphone, I benefited from a science that began, in its modern form, in that very room. There, in 1850, the Royal Meteorological Society was founded.
