Qatar Airways will expand its growing Boeing 787 Dreamliner network with new service to Moscow later this year. The Gulf carrier will add two weekly flights between Doha International Airport and Moscow’s Sheremetyevo International Airport with two additional flights per week, boosting the total frequency to 14 flights per week, and will replace single-aisle Airbus A319 and 320 aircraft currently serving the route with a combination of A320s and twin-aisle B787s. “We established our Moscow route just over 10 years ago, and since then we have watched it grow steadily,” said Akbar Al Baker, CEO, Qatar Airways. “I’m very pleased that we are able to meet our customers’ demand by increasing not only the frequency of flights per week, but also introducing one of the most state-of-the-art aircraft in the world to the route.” The carrier’s Dreamliner is equipped with 254 seats in a two-class configuration, including 22 seats in business class. The increase in both frequency and aircraft will add 168 more business-class seats to the routes each week.
