Qatar Airways is celebrating one year of its popular non-stop service between Miami International Airport and Doha’s new Hamad International Airport with an increase in flight frequency to cater to growing demand. The Gulf carrier plans to expand service from five flights per week to daily service beginning Nov. 18.

Qatar currently operates the route, the only direct service between Miami and the Middle East, with Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Equipped in a two-class configuration, the aircraft offers 42 seats in business class.

Gonzalez, aviation director, Miami-Dade. “The strength of this first-ever route between the Gateway of the Americas and the Gulf Region has been obvious, with customer demand creating the need for larger, 335-seat aircraft just last month and for the expansion from five weekly flights to daily service this coming November. Additionally, their Miami-Doha service has provided quicker, easier connections between Miami and previously underserved markets like India, Africa and Australia. Without question, Qatar Airways’ success at MIA is also a testament to the appeal of its award-winning Five-Star service, and we look forward to their continued growth as South Florida’s nonstop travel option to the Middle East.”
