Qatar Airways, the global launch customer of the new Airbus A350 Xtra Wide Body aircraft, plans to introduce its first commercial service to the German business hub city of Frankfurt (FRA) next year. The carrier will operate the non-stop route daily from Doha (DOH) to the European city from January 2015. The 283-seat A350 XWB is equipped with a dual-cabin layout, featuring 36 lie-flat seats in business class. Qatar currently has 80 A350s on order and plans to add eight into its fleet before the end of 2015.

The airline has demonstrated its commitment to quality and comfort offered onboard and to providing passengers with the leading technology available in the aviation industry,” said Akbar Al Baker, CEO, Qatar Airways. “Qatar Airways looks forward to inaugurating our first A350 on the Doha–Frankfurt route, and to very soon introducing this next-generation aircraft on many other cities offered on the airline’s extensive network.”
