Red wine, blueberry cocktails, morning coffee — it all adds up to less-than-sparkling teeth. Promising results leaving teeth up four to six shades lighter in a single 20-minute session, the completely portable IGNITE by BriteWhite LED teeth whitening system is a quick alternative to scheduling a whitening session with your dentist.

The kit contains a pack of disposable mouthpiece covers, two push syringes filled with whitening gel (a 35 percent carbamide peroxide blend), 18 brush-up tooth prepping pads, one nine-volt battery, a whitening chart and an LED-light mouthpiece attached to a flexible neck collar so you can whiten and brighten hands-free.

It all fits into a soft zippered case measuring roughly 8 inches by 6 inches by 2.5 inches to pack easily in a carry-on.

I brought it with me on a recent three-week excursion and used it twice with good results. I found it to be a little messy, but completely manageable for the recommended 20 minutes. Despite my four-times-a-day tea habit and red wine at business meals, my smile was always ready for prime time.
